Keytrick Canady
Sergeant Major Keytrick Canady hails from Byron, Georgia, where he graduated in 1997. He enlisted into the United States Army in September 2002 as Air Defense C4I Tactical Operations Center Enhanced Operator/Maintainer and went to basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. After Basic Training he attended Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bliss, Texas where He was awarded the MOS 14J, and 14H once the 14J MOS split in 2011.
Sergeant Major Canady’s assignments include: 3-43 ADA Ft Bliss, Texas – 2003-2008 (ADA C4I Operator); Tampa Recruiting Battalion, Tampa, Florida – 2008-2012 (Detailed Recruiter); 13th Missile Defense Battery Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Germany – 2012-2014 (Space Operations Sergeant); 13th Missile Defense Battery Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Germany – 2014-2015 (Detachment NCOIC); United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command Huntsville, Alabama – 2015-2018 (Operations NCO); 14th Missile Defense Battery Kyogamisaki, Japan – 2018-2019 (Battery First Sergeant); 3-4 ADAR Fort Bragg, North Carolina – 2019-2021 (Battery and HHB First Sergeant); United States Sergeants Major Academy -2021-2022; 94th Air and Missile Defense Command Joint Base Pearl Harbor/Hickam, Hawaii – 2022-2024 (G3 Operations Sergeant Major); and most recently serving as the Aberdeen Test Center Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major Canady’s deployments include: Qatar 2005-2006 (ADA Command and Control NCO); Saudi Arabia/Al Udeid – 2006-2007(Operations NCO); Afghanistan – 2019-2020 (Battery First Sergeant).
Sergeant Major Canady’s awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Valorous Unit Award (1OLC), Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (silver, 1 Loop), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. Sergeant major Canady’s education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, Advanced Leader Course, the Senior Leader Course, and the United States Army Sergeant Major’s Course (Class 72). He also completed the Army Recruiting Course, Army Space Cadre Course, Ground Based-Midcourse Defense Course, master Resilience Course, Sensor Manager Qualification Course, Unit Armorers Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Nuclear Biochemical Defense Course. Pre Command Course. Sergeant Major Canady has a Certified Personal Training Certificate and a Bachelor’s of Professional Studies in Project Management from Colorado Technical University.
He is Married to the lovely Keaneesha Canady, and they have 3 children Kelaundra, Keytrick Jr. and Kory.
