It is vital for programs handling classified or sensitive communications and required for TSG-6 AEL listing—enabling secure procurement across government agencies.
National Telecommunications Security Working Group (NTSWG)
For over a decade, the National Telecommunications Security Working Group (NTSWG) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence have partnered with the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) and EPG to ensure that a wide variety of cutting-edge telecommunications equipment meet technical security requirements and are available to the Army, Department of War (DoW), the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC), and other federal government agencies. Located in the Huachuca Mountains of Southeastern Arizona, the EPG Interagency Telephony Laboratory (ITL) conducts rigorous testing in support of national security.
Core Capabilities
The ITL Core Capabilities include:
- Conduct rigorous audio and video vulnerability testing on telephony equipment
- Perform evaluations including:
- Microphonic response (sensitivity to unintended audio pickup)
- Voice intelligibility and signal clarity
- Field test verification in operational settings
- RF analysis and cyber forensics on telephony devices
- Port scanning and endpoint monitoring
- Audio/video hold state verification (ensuring no unintended signal retention)
