U.S. Army Electronic Proving Ground
The U.S. Army Electronic Proving Ground (EPG) re-opened Fort Huachuca in 1954 and is the oldest unit on post. We are a subordinate organization of the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC), headquartered at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD and one of seven Army Major Range Test and Facility Bases (MRTFBs). As part of the DOW’s critical Test and Evaluation (T&E) infrastructure, we provide T&E capabilities in support of the DoW acquisition system, direct support of Army Futures Command, Program Executive Offices, DoW partners and industry partners to ensure our Warfighters are enabled to dominate the future battlefield.

Where We’re Located
Our headquarters is located on Fort Huachuca, in Southeastern Arizona, with a field office in Fort Cavazos, TX. EPG is unique within the DoW because of its naturally quiet electromagnetic environment, its unique specialized facilities, its close relationship with the Army training community, and its ability to use the expansive real estate of southern Arizona. Operations are routinely possible on 70,000 acres at Ft. Huachuca, 23,000 acres on Wilcox Dry Lake, more than 100,000 acres at Gila Bend, and with prior coordination, on approximately 62 million acres of federal and state-owned land.
How We Test
Our mission is to plan, conduct, analyze and report the results of developmental tests in support of our Network, EW and C4SIR customers. In addition, we support the Army operational test community by conducting operational tests, user tests, and experiments. Our C4I expertise allows us to support customers in the joint and training communities as well. We conduct bench tests, lab tests, field tests, and large-scale, geographically distributed systems of systems tests. We employ a mix of live and simulated instrumentation and assets.
