RTC successfully showcases future of agile test instrumentation

(July 21, 2026) The U.S. Army Redstone Test Center (RTC), a subordinate command of the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC), recently concluded a highly successful maritime operation in the Pacific, demonstrating the capabilities of a new, rapidly deployable system designed to collect long-range missile test data while forging a critical data-sharing pathway with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
Former Apache pilot returns to command test center
REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (May 29, 2026) A Hawaii native has taken the reins of the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center, one of the Army’s premier development centers. Col. Aaron M. Kia succeeded Col. Joe C. Alexander as RTC commander in a ceremony Friday at the Aviation Test and Instrumentation Integration Facility.
RTC breaks ground on Army’s largest electromagnetic testing facility
REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (April 14, 2026) The U.S. Army Redstone Test Center held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, for the new Military Systems Electromagnetic Test Support (MSETS) facility, a project 25 years in the making. Once completed in 2028, the congressionally funded facility will be the Army’s largest radio-frequency anechoic chamber.
New experimental test pilots on way to Redstone
REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (June 12, 2026) The U.S. Army Redstone Test Center will soon welcome four newly-graduated Army experimental test pilots from the Naval Test Pilot School. Class 168 graduated from the 11-month course June 12 at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland. An Army civilian flight test engineer from RTC also completed the course.
